The Serious Soil Builder 3 part system consisting of the Ultimate Microbial Compost, Microbe Food and our NEM Blend™ (Nutrient, Enzyme and Mineral). It is a simple, economical way for any grower to build up caviar soil using a combination of the top dressing and/or active aerated teas. This system was developed by a professional commercial grower who needed a quick, easy, reliable and consistent way to get results without using bottled nutrients. The intent was to standardize the no-till, or living organic method, for commercial growing but it also works great for the small home gardener! If you don’t have a tea system you can still follow the alternative directions below and have great results!!

Many teas or powders on the market lack quality ingredients, include toxic ingredients and by products or they only address limited aspects to soil building. We have taken the most respected amendments, a combination of proprietary lacto-fermented herbs/plants and a bokashi blend and combined them with the best local compost and worm castings money can buy. There are over 40+ ingredients that go into making our Serious Soil Builder. The result is an incredibly effective tool for small grower and commercial growers alike. Choose the best recipe for you below and see for yourself!

This recipe is to build your soil and fully develop plants. It is intended for plants over 8 inches tall. For sensitive and native plants you may find it necessary to cut the recommended dosages in half or even a quarter in some cases.

STANDARD APPLICATION

Top dress one tablespoon of NEM Blend evenly (under your mulch if possible) for every one gallon of soil. Mix ¾ cup of the Ultimate Microbial Compost and one tablespoon of Microbe Food into 5 gallons of water. Add an air pump with air stone and brew for 12-48 hours. Feed this tea as much as once per week but not less than once per month. Apply the Ultimate Microbial Compost Tea after top dressing with NEM Blend. It is very important you are using quality filtered or spring water to make your tea or water your plants. Also use a good quality living soil and don’t use synthetic bottled nutrients. It is very important to mulch! Please refer to Bloom recipe during flowering stages.

AGGRESSIVE APPLICATION

Bump the Ultimate Microbial Compost up to one cup but continue to only add one tablespoon of Microbe Food to four gallons of water in a five gallon bucket. Do not increase NEM Blend until you have used it for a while and you can identify the soil needs more or certain plants that do better with more.

BLOOM STAGE APPLICATION

Please stop all application of Serious Soil Builder 3 weeks before harvest. The grower can continue standard application up until this point. You may want to switch over to our Super Bird Guano Boost™ (not yet available, will be soon) in the first week of flower, which can be used in conjunction with the Serious Soil Builder. You can also use any other natural, non-synthetic guano as a booster during this stage.

TOP DRESS ONLY (No Tea)

Top dress one tablespoon of NEM Blend evenly (under your mulch if possible) along with 2-3 Tablespoons of Ultimate Microbial Blend for every one gallon of soil. Mix together into the topsoil.

FULL APPLICATION (Field Use)

Use the entire bag of NEM Blend and mix with 30-40 gallons of water in a barrel. Mix vigorously and apply the solution evenly on plants, continuing to mix as you apply. Then brew up the entire bag of Ultimate Microbial Compost by mixing with 30-40 gallons of water in a barrel. Add approximately 1/2 of the Microbe Food bag (4 tablespoons) and brew up for 12-36 hours. Apply the tea.

Serious Soil Builder will help create a rich eco system in your container or raised bed. Don’t counteract the incredible benefits of Serious Soil Builder by putting synthetic bottled nutrients with heavy salts on your soil or you will kill your biology! If you have done this, you will need to repair the soil and leach it of the salts. You can do this by flushing substantially and re-inoculating the soil with an Ultimate Microbial Tea. Even better, if you can wait, put the contaminated soil in a pile outside covered with a tarp with holes so Mother Nature can regenerate it for a couple years. Remember, if you pour poison on your soil, you will kill the life. For this reason, choose very wisely what you put on your soil.
